I'm a software developer with a very good level of English. I'm able to translate any text from English to Czech or vice versa. I prefer when text is about software, gaming or has a general subject.

I am native Czech speaker, freelance translator and interpreter. I do mostly general, business, legal, medical and technical translations. I am also experienced in website translations, product description and marketing translations. I can do upto 6.500 words a day. I studied BA Filmmaking in London. During my 11 years stay in London I started working as an interpreter for few companies. I was interpreting to clients in hospitals, clients in social services and on art exhibitions. I have been also tranlating and proofreading projects, documents and surveys from English to Czech, Czech to English, English to Slovak, Slovak to English in number of London based call centres, and other types of businesses and individuals. Nowadays I work as a freelance translator.

I work as translator since 2008. My daily capacity is approx 2,000 - 3,000 words for translation, resp. 5,000 words for proofreading. It depends on the text. During my translation career I have worked with user manuals, technical documents, financial statements, computer games, marketing materials like PR, HR documens, leaflets, surveys, web pages, sport interviews, personal letters, books, travel guides etc... I do not translate natural sciences like physics, chemistry and law.

I have been translating since 2013, focusing mainly on texts of technological nature and promotional materials, e.g. manuals, software and all kinds of general commerce-related texts. Apart from this main focus I also translate various general and literary texts, games, video subtitles (Amara). I am well versed in the most-often used CAT software such as Trados and willing to learn new and interesting tools that help us translators every day. I am familiar with current trends in technology and can work with a wide range of software.

I have been working as a translator and a proofreader since 2010 (e. g. for Booking.com, Czech publishing house Host, Leos Janacek Museum of Music, Alterna music club etc.) thus I believe I have rather a lot of experience. I am very used to work on projects with strict deadlines. I am familiar with MemSource translating software. I just like languages and I enjoy looking for different nuances in meaning and style.

Already while studying my bachelor and Master's degree in translation, I got a few translation projects, mainly in the field of audiovisual translation. After my graduation, I started to profile as a literary translator + a translator of (popular) science books. Other than literary and audiovisiaul translation, I have experience with translating various manuals/handbooks and general texts. Apart from translating, I have spent the last 10 years giving language classes. My students usually make quite a big progress within a small amount of time, and start really using the language.
