I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.

I am a recent graduate living in Germany. I enjoy translating on the side both as a hobby as well as a steady source of income. I consider Russian, English and French as my mother tongues. I was lucky enough to travel the world and live in many countries, finishing school in U.A.E. and later attending the university in Greece following a job contract in the USA. My knowledge of languages from the native perspective allows me to translate at top notch quality.

I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have gained experience working for the different ministries in Chile (ChileCompra, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, etc), along with numerous local and international companies (Codelco, AES Corp, Siemens, etc.), as well as local universities (UDEC, UBB, UDD), in documents ranging from a simple CV through to the contracts, manuals and university papers. I'm a native English speaker from Forestville, New York, USA. I have a B.A. degree in International Business and Spanish from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I've been living Spain since September 2011 and I am bilingual. Since March 2015, I've been working as a translator (Spanish to English) and editor for a popular technology website, working with texts related to business, video games, and computer software. I have extensive experience working on translation and proofreading projects, including textbooks, questionnaires, blogs, short stories, and thesis papers.
