First, I would like to introduce myself very briefly. I am a 42-year old native Portuguese speaker, who grew, studied and, nowadays, works in Portugal (in the city with the famous hovering umbrella installation, by the way). I am a trained translator with a diploma in English and Portuguese languages and translation post-graduate studies. Before finishing university I decided to interrupt studies to work as an expatriate translator/interpreter in a construction project with a Portuguese company in Barbados. I have completed university after returning and never stopped doing what I really like: communicate between languages.

My experience and skills are especially strong with medicine, IT/ICT, defence, business, marketing and legal translation, dealing with contracts, annual reports, corporate websites, bidding documents, business plans, brochures, presentations, written resolutions, and agreements, confidential emails, language assistance in meetings, also experience in diplomatic level. The total number of words over these 20 years exceeds 5,000,000 words, with companies and brand names such as Huawei, Unitel, IBM, Unilever, Suunto, Dell, Disney, Gesticer, Harley Davidson, to name a few. Please check my CV, and allow me to ask your attention for page 4 for some highlights.

During the past 8 years I have done translation jobs either to private or public institutions. Currently, I'm teaching in Portugal, but available to work in any project around the world. I wish to make translations part of my everyday routine, instead of being a side-job occupation. So, if in the future you have any kind of work matching my language expertise, feel free to contact me. I'm also available to do any kind of test. I hope we can work together in the future.

In case you need any further information, please contact me. Thank you for your time. Best Regards Gonçalo Silva

Since I was a kid, I was always passionate about other languages and cultures and deep down I always knew translation was the path to pursue, except for that time when I thought I could be an astronaut. I have a degree in translation and I already have a lot of experience in the area of translation and interpreting and I am always seeking new opportunities to expand my wisdom and experience. I currently work as an in-house translator and as a freelancer translator. I am a very motivated translator, I work fast but I always seek for perfection. And dear client, please remember, If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Be wise when choosing your translator

My passion lies in translation, entrepreneurship and helping people. After studying business administration at London Metropolitan University, I began my career working in finance, energy and telecommunications in Maputo, Mozambique. In 2013, I founded Navitas Group Lda, a company that aimed to disrupt the stagnant translation market in Mozambique. Mainly, I want to focus on using translation to facilitate communication between individuals and companies, as well as participating in entrepreneurial endeavors that catalyze socio-economic development. I have a depth of experience working in telecommunications, energy and new business development as well as 19 years of experience of translation and intercultural communication.

I am currently pursuing a Masters in Translation and Localization Project Management at the University of Maryland, thus honing my translation skills, incorporating CAT Tools, MT and project management techniques into our company workflow and service delivery.

Hey, there! My name’s Nox and I’m a native level speaker in both English and Portuguese. I’ve worked for 4 years for the translation company I’m currently at. I specialise in both Eng-Port and Port-Eng pairs, and, as a poet, I can transcreate to meet whatever linguistic needs my clients have. Although I'm fairly new to the Smartcat self advertisement, and some things are still missing from my profile, rest assured I'm more than capable and proficient in both English and Portuguese, as I'm very attentive to details. With my previous experience and expertise, I believe I can hit the ground running and start actively contributing to your business as soon as possible. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss my application further.
