I am a professional English <> Turkish translator and proofreader. I completed numerous projects for several clients in multiple specializations. I have been in translation business since 2002, and have knowledge about all types of documents and CAT software.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have literally been involved in every aspect of translation and localization industry and had the chance to develop my skills and understanding in various fields of translation profession, notably technical, legal, business and marketing fields as a result of regular daily translation assignments (ranging from 2000 to 4000 words) over the last decade. I may not be a graduate of language and translation studies (my background includes Political Science and Sociology) but I firmly believe that what I lack in formal training I more than make up for with 10 years of daily on-the-job experience.

The most part of translations consists of audit reports, articles of association, contracts, powers of attorney, construction projects, instructions; in the last time, especially in the last two years, I work mostly on different IT projects. I frequently translate tender documents as well. I had a great opportunity to work at the long-term project for translation of documentary films for TV-channel Russian Travel Guide. After working in real estate and banking sectors, I decided to pursue my career as a full-time freelance translator. I provide translation, localisation and editing services in Turkish - English and vice versa with a daily output around 4,000 words. I am a passionate and experienced translator, who has a degree in French-English-Turkish translation and interpretation. I have also lived in Germany for 4 years and can translate from German to Turkish. I am working as a full-time translator at the Ministry of Justice in Turkey. I also work at the Turkish Standards Institution as a part-time language expert and translate EC and ISO standards into Turkish.
