I graduated from Translation and Interpreting Studies Department in the year of 2012. As an undergraduate student at Boğaziçi University, I have improved my English speaking skills through the courses. Moreover, I cannot deny the great contribution of my visiting the USA and working there for three months. During my education I worked at different places, such as publishing houses, translation offices so as to gain experiences. Apart from translating legal and business documents for various local and international translation companies as a freelance translator, I have also edited a number of books, stories, poems and other creative texts. Following that, I started my Phd at Translation and Interpreting Studies Department at Yıldız Technical University in 2017.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have literally been involved in every aspect of translation and localization industry and had the chance to develop my skills and understanding in various fields of translation profession, notably technical, legal, business and marketing fields as a result of regular daily translation assignments (ranging from 2000 to 4000 words) over the last decade. I may not be a graduate of language and translation studies (my background includes Political Science and Sociology) but I firmly believe that what I lack in formal training I more than make up for with 10 years of daily on-the-job experience.

I have a diploma in Translation and Interpretation Studies from one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey, and I have spent 3 months in Canada to enhance my technical competencies upon its completion. I have gained technical experience in English-Turkish technology translation for press with major companies such as Nokia, alongside translation for other diverse subjects. I'm working as a freelance translator since 2007 and my main expertise areas are IT, technical, and video games. I also work on marketing, social sciences, educational materials, and questionnaires in general. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and native speaker of Turkish, so I mostly work on English-Turkish pair.
