My career history is shaped in 4 interrelated periods focused on communication based on mainly content creation, management, and execution in terms of marketing. Highlights of Qualifications: ● 12 years of in-house experience as an editor, transcreation ed., and copywriter in both conventional and digital media, and advertisement agencies. ● Working on localization and publishing projects as a reviewer, proofreader and editor since 2014. ● Specialized in the fields of corporate and brand communication, marketing, arts&culture, lifestyle ● Experienced in working for multinational PR and Advertising agencies and brands.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have literally been involved in every aspect of translation and localization industry and had the chance to develop my skills and understanding in various fields of translation profession, notably technical, legal, business and marketing fields as a result of regular daily translation assignments (ranging from 2000 to 4000 words) over the last decade. I may not be a graduate of language and translation studies (my background includes Political Science and Sociology) but I firmly believe that what I lack in formal training I more than make up for with 10 years of daily on-the-job experience.

I have been providing localization services to industry-leading customers such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, IBM, Twitter, Lenovo, Dell, Sony, Oracle, etc. through some agencies. Working on a time-restricted schedule, I provide timely deliveries with a main focus on customer satisfaction, which requires being highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality. As a passionate linguist, I made my debut in the translation and localization world in 2014, when I was only a freshman in the university. I started as an intern and ended up to be freelance translator at SDL Turkey for 2 years. During this period of time, I gained immense amount of experience and I learned how to use multiple translation tools. Following that, I worked for a transcription company and made transcriptions of voice records both in English and Turkish. Finally, I started working with Localex in 2017 and that was one of the best decisions I made regarding my profession. During my time in SDL plc. and Localex I made translations, reviews and proof-reading in a wide variety of fields such as law, IT, marketing, legal, medical, gaming. Hi! I am a Turkish native speaker working as a self-employed localization specialist. As for my skill set, I am actively using Trados, Memoq, Memsource, Polyglot, Lilt, Xbench, and some subtitling tools such as Captionhub, Subtitle Edit, and Amara. I am mainly specializing in IT/software localization, technical translation, website localization, marketing transcreation, and subtitling. I have been working with many national and international translation offices on Free Lance Basis particularly in Engineering, Marketing and Business Issues particularly experienced in Contracts, Tender Documents, Marketing Documents (Such as Avon, Hilton websites, bulletins and training documents), Hazardous Materials & Emergency Response Training Files for Ministry of Defense, and also Medical Documents like MSDS, various certificates for medical devices, various types of catheter manuals and some Mechanical Engineering issues such as manuals of some Pumps, Motors, Machines and on many other issues both for translation and proofreading.
