Writer, Hansard editor, focus on proofreading and clarity. Born in Canada, studied physics until I realised 'crop science' would make a life of travel easier, left for Mexico at 16, have lived in Europe most of my adult life (Israel, Germany, Spain, Czechoslovakia, the UK).

I am a languages student from Northern Ireland, studying Spanish and Portuguese. I may not be fully qualified, but I am now looking to fill my time with more translation due to the fact that I had to return home during my Erasmus year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I still am continuing with my classes from my host university (Porto, in Portugal) and am currently studying a translation module so I am familiar with CAT software and the proper protocol for translation.

I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.

I love helping creative businesses and academics find the right words to reach the right people. I like asking questions. My aim is to ensure clear and correct style in my mother tongue. Attractive prose is important to me. As is striving to make life better. I am a member of Catalan professional translation association APTIC and a Qualified Member of the UK professional translator's association: ITI. I am also a certified Proz.com translator in all my language combinations and a member of the UK based Emerging Translators Network for literary translators. Hello everybody! My name is Braj. I am working as a freelance translator for the last seven years.
